Mathematics of death
If we set the three thousand killed in the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001 as a basemark (6000=1WTC), then we see that
- Those who died of measles and typhoid in British concentration camps in South Africa between 1899 and 1902 equalled 10.66 WTCs
- Armenians massacred in Anatolia in 1915 totalled 666.66 WTCs
- In Europe, from 1933 to 1945, 2000 WTCs of Jews, and between 73.14 WTCs and 166.66 WTCs of Sinto and Roma (“gypsies”) were killed in Nazi death camps by a regime installed as a bulwark against Communism
- In Guernica, Spain, April 26, 1937, a half WTC died in an air raid by German Condor legion
- In Katyn, Poland, April, 1940 4,500 Polish officers were shot by NKVD troops numbering one-and-a-half of a WTC
- In USSR, between 1941 and 1945, 2166.67 WTCs died
- Jews massacred in Babi Yar, Ukraine, on September 29 and 30, 1941 totalled 11.26 WTCs
- In Hamburg, from July 24 to 29, August 2, 1943 4.34 WTCs of men, 7 WTCs of women and over 2.66 WTCs of children died in the firestorm caused by British bombing
- In Dresden, on February 13, 1945, 11.66 WTCs of mostly women, children and older people were suffocated or burned to death in another firestorm caused by British bombing
- In Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and Nagasaki on August 9, 1945, 36.66 WTCs were killed and another 76.66 WTCs died from injuries or radiation over the next five years
- In Deir Yassin, Palestine, on April 9, 1948, 4 per cent of one WTC were massacred by the Israeli Stern gang
- In My Lai, Vietnam, on March 16, 1968, 12 per cent of one WTC were massacred by Charlie Company, 11th Brigade, Americal Division
- During the Gulf War, from January 16 to February 8, 1991, 33.34 WTCs of Iraqi soldiers were killed, US losses 4 per cent of one WTC killed in action – over 233.34 WTCs of children have died since 1991 as a result of sanctions
- 68 per cent of one WTC of Palestinians have been killed in the Intifada, from December 9, 1987 to October 2001 – Israeli dead equal 16 per cent of one WTC
- The number of Rwandans killed in genocidal attacks between April and July 1994 totalled 166.66 WTCs
- In Srebrenica, Bosnia, from July 11 to 15, 1995, 2.663 WTCs of Muslim men, women and children were massacred
- In Yugoslavia, from March 23 to June 10, 1999, 0.08 of a WTC of Yugoslav civilians were killed over seventy-eight days of bombing.
That's a total of nearly eight thousand (7728.64) WTCs.
Roughly the equivalent of six World Trade Center bombings every four weeks over the past hundred years.
