Note to verse 2 (“Oh, you leader of women . . . ”): The name Rachel (in Hebrew Rahel, raw-kale'); stems “from an unused root meaning to journey; a ewe [the females being the predominant element of a flock] (as a good traveller): –ewe, sheep.” (Strong's Dictionary of the Hebrew & Chaldean Language). In Arabic, however, it means “breath of God”.

In a different context, I addressed someone else of this name:

Flock-leader
Far-traveller
Wise woman
Most beautiful of the daughters of Laban
Dark-eyed darling
Child of yesterday
Mother of tomorrow
Lover of today

I think these words, also, apply to Rachel Corrie, though addressed, originally, to someone else.
